High-Wire Circus Artists at Heumarkt, Cologne, 1946

These photographs were shot shortly after World War II in 1946 at Haumarkt in Cologne. The bombed-out city forms the basis for circus artists adventure on the line, and the audience gets a well-deserved break in the reconstruction effort.
