A little over 30 years ago, John Lennon and Yoko Ono posed for their “Double Fantasy” album cover. The resulting image, by photographer Kishin Shinoyama, was taken during one of the couple’s last photo shoots at Central Park, New York, just three months before Lennon’s untimely death in December 1980. Shinoyama made other photographs that day, but many of them have never been shown until now.
This month, Shinoyama and Yoko release their collaborative book “Kishin Shinoyama. John Lennon & Yoko Ono. Double Fantasy” (Taschen), featuring never-before-seen photographs from five days in September 1980. Here's some of the selection.
