The Real Fun and Humour Portraits of Victorian Silly Faces, ca. 1900

Victorian portraits can appear to be humourless. This was often due to attitudes and appearances of the time but can also be seen due to the demands of slow and delicate photographic processes. These images from a family collection held at Northumberland Archives provide an insight in to the real fun and humour of the Victorian era, no different to that in families today.
