Impressive Fashion Designs by Anthony Blotta in the 1940s

Born in southern Italy, Fashion designer Anthony Blotta (1888–1971) started his fashion house in 1919. Trained as a tailor, he became known for his work in wool, especially his suits and coats, and even in evening wear.

In the early 1930s, Blotta designed a pants suit for Marlene Dietrich, long before such apparel became generally fashionable for women. He worked within the silhouettes of current fashion, but often with a softer edge. He remained in business into the 1960s.

These vintage photos captured portraits of classic beauties wearing fashion designs by Anthony Blotta in the 1940s.
