Born 1878 as Laura Constance Hardie in Windsor, Berkshire, British actress and renowned acting coach Constance Collier began her career in the theater before moving to Hollywood in the 1920s, where she appeared in several films.

Although her film career was relatively modest, Collier became famous for coaching stars like Joan Crawford, Katharine Hepburn, and Vivien Leigh. Her classical training methods left a lasting impact on Hollywood acting. She continued teaching until her death in 1955, at the age of 77.
