Born 1931 in London, British actress Claire Bloom gained fame for her performances in both classical and contemporary roles in film, television, and theater.
Bloom made her film debut in 1948 and quickly became known for her elegance and strong screen presence. Some of her notable films include The Haunting (1963), The Spy Who Came in from the Cold (1965), and Charly (1968). she has had a distinguished career, with an extensive stage background as well, including roles in plays by Shakespeare and Chekhov.
