Jean Harlow: The Leading Sex Symbol of the Early 1930s

Jean Harlow (1911–1937) was an iconic American actress and one of the leading stars of Hollywood’s Golden Age. Known for her platinum blonde hair, sultry beauty, and sharp comedic timing, she became a major sex symbol during the 1930s.

Harlow’s breakthrough role was in Hell’s Angels (1930), and she went on to star in films like Red-Headed Woman (1932), Red Dust (1932), Dinner at Eight (1933), Reckless (1935) and Suzy (1936).

Despite her career being tragically cut short by her untimely death at age 26 from kidney failure, Harlow’s influence on Hollywood and pop culture remains enduring.
