George Harrison photographed with his cat, Korky at Kinfauns, Surrey, England, 1965. This famous photo session took place at his home, Kinfauns and was for The Beatles Monthly. The photographer was Leslie Bryce.
Q: “There’s a great photo on the cover of The Beatles Monthly magazine of George with a white cat…”
Pattie Boyd: “Korky! Korky the cat was in The Dandy. We both owned Korky. It was so funny… George, obviously, used to get so much fan mail, so I’d collect it up and put it in boxes and when we were in London we’d take it to the office for them to sort out and reply to the fans. Anyway, one day we were out, and when we came back the box was on the floor and the letters were scattered everywhere and we realized one of them had been opened, which was odd. Then we looked at the envelope and it was addressed to Korky! Someone had put catnip in it, and Korky had ripped it open.”
