In the 1960s, Steven Tyler was a young musician exploring his musical identity. He began his career in the early 1960s, forming his first band, The Strangeurs, while a student at Roosevelt High School. He later became lead singer of Chain Reaction, which opened for bands like The Byrds and The Beach Boys. Tyler was expelled from Roosevelt High School in 1967 for drug use. He also briefly sang backing vocals on the Left Banke’s second album, The Left Banke Too.
In the late 1960s, Tyler moved to Boston, where he eventually met the members of what would become Aerosmith.
